Perborates are a group of compounds that contain boron and hydrogen peroxide. They are commonly used as bleach activators in laundry detergents and as oxidizing agents in detergents and personal care products. They are also used as a source of hydrogen peroxide in certain chemical reactions and as a bleaching agent in the textile and paper industry. Common examples of perborates include sodium perborate and perborate tetrahydrate.
