POWERpack

The product line of sealing cords

POWERpack - plugging cords

POWERpack is a product line of stop cords for pumps and valves. We offer more than 20 types of packing cords in many sizes with braid, lubricants and impregnation.

For proper selection of packing cords, application parameters such as chemical resistance, temperature, pressure, speed should be considered. Some materials may require more frequent adjustments or replacements than others, which impacts total cost of maintenance and downtime.

Let us help you make your choice.

Application parameters for selection of the plugging cord

  1. Fluid Type: Consider the chemical properties of the fluid being pumped as this will determine the compatibility of the packing material.
  2. Temperature: Evaluate the operating temperature range of the system as the packing material must be able to withstand the temperature of the fluid.
  3. Pressure: Evaluate the operating pressure range of the pump. The packing material must be able to withstand the pressure exerted by the fluid in the system.
  4. Shaft Speed: Determine the rotational speed of the shaft (usually measured in revolutions per minute or RPM). The packing material must be able to handle the friction generated at a particular shaft speed without excessive wear or heat buildup.
  5. Size and Dimensions: Measure the dimensions of the packing, including shaft diameter, packing depth, and space between the shaft and packing wall.
  6. **If the pumped fluid contains abrasive particles (such as sludge or waste water), the packing material should be abrasion resistant.
