POWERtherm - industrial thermal insulation products

The POWERtherm range includes thermal insulation products in various designs - boards, tape, cords, sleeves, textiles. Common materials include ceramic and glass fibre, aluminosilicate fibres and mineral wool. Each material exhibits unique properties that make it suitable for specific applications such as sealing, insulation and fire protection.

Quality and material selection

Several factors determine the quality and appropriate selection of thermal insulation materials. A low thermal conductivity ensures minimal heat transfer and improved energy efficiency, while high thermal and chemical resistance ensures material durability and environmental suitability. The mechanical properties such as tensile and compressive strength ensure that the material can withstand stress without degradation. Fire resistance is essential for safety. Moisture resistance maintains the insulating properties of the material even in wet conditions.

Materials

Ceramic fibers offer temperature resistance up to 1100°C continuously, making them ideal for furnaces, boilers and other high temperature equipment. Glass fibers are efficient up to 750°C, making them suitable for less heat-intensive applications such as HVAC systems, automotive components and electrical equipment. Aluminum-silica fibers, can withstand sustained temperatures up to 1260 °C and are used in thermal protection systems, aerospace components and high-temperature furnaces. Mineral wool, a versatile material made from molten minerals, can withstand temperatures up to 1000 °C and is commonly used for thermal insulation of buildings, pipes, tanks.
