Safety sleeves protect workers from injuries (scalding, burns) caused by leakage of the medium from the fitting. It does not address the tightness of the connection.
Due to its spherical shape and relatively small sealing area, the seal achieves a high specific pressure during installation and thus very good sealing properties.
