Original condition

The large diameter (2.2 m) graphite gasket was not suitable for high pressure, cyclic temperature applications and was leaking. It was also challenging to install this segmented seal.

New solution

  • With regard to operating pressure and temperature cycling, a gasket for DynaGraph heat exchangers (2270 x 2241.4 x 3.2 mm) with baffle was designed
  • Easier installation of the seal in 1 piece
  • Parameters of the designed gasket significantly extended its lifetime
