Sealing the burner generator

Original condition

The flange sheets were deformed due to frequent uncontrolled tightening and when graphite gaskets were used, the material was pushed out of the sealing surface and the flanges were seated on top of each other. This resulted in uncontrolled specific pressure on the seal.

New solution

  • Due to the poor condition of the flange connection, the use of POWERgasket for non-parallel surfaces was proposed
  • POWERgasket can compensate for severely rotated and deformed flange sheets and prevent them from seating on each other
  • The designed gasket has been tightened with POWERtorque LF kote 450 treated fasteners, which ensures better torque transfer to the gasket and more uniform tightening of the flanges
