Acetophenone is a colourless crystalline solid that has a sweet floral smell and is used in the manufacture of fragrances, flavourings and other chemicals. Acetophenone is also used as a solvent and starting material for the synthesis of other chemicals. Acetophenone is flammable and should be handled with care.
