Aniline dyes are a group of synthetic dyes that are characterised by their bright colours and are used to dye a wide range of materials including textiles, leather, paper and plastics. Aniline dyes are water-soluble and can be applied to materials by a variety of dyeing techniques, including dyeing, printing and spraying. They are also used as indicators in laboratory experiments. Aniline dyes are toxic and can be harmful if large amounts are ingested or inhaled. They are also irritating and can cause skin and eye irritation.
