Methoxyaniline
Anisidine is a colourless to pale yellow liquid that has a sweet fruity smell and is highly flammable. Anisidine is used as a starting material in the manufacture of other chemicals and as a laboratory reagent. It is also used as a solvent and as a fuel additive. There are three isomers of anisidine that differ in the position of the methoxyl group relative to the amino group in the aromatic ring - o-anisidine (2-methoxyaniline), m-anisidine (3-methoxyaniline) and p-anisidine (4-methoxyaniline). Anisidine is a toxic substance that can be harmful if ingested or inhaled in large quantities.
