Di(2-ethylhexyl) Phthalate, DEHP
Bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) is a plasticizer used to make polyvinyl chloride (PVC) soft and flexible. DEHP is a colourless liquid with a slight sweetish odour. It is used in a variety of products including flooring, wall coverings, automotive parts, toys and medical devices. However, DEHP has been identified as a potential endocrine disruptor and its use is restricted in some countries due to concerns about its potential health effects.
