Blast Furnace Gas - Chemical resistance

Blast furnace gas is a by-product of the blast furnace iron making process. It is a mixture of gases produced when iron ore, coke and limestone are heated in a blast furnace to produce molten iron. Blast furnace gas consists mainly of nitrogen, carbon monoxide and hydrogen. Blast furnace gas is usually used as a fuel in the iron and steel industry, either to generate heat or electricity, or is burned to produce steam for process purposes. In some cases, blast furnace gas may be cleaned and treated to remove impurities such as sulphur and particulates before use as a fuel.
