Chlorine fluoride is a highly reactive and extremely toxic inorganic compound. It is a colorless gas at room temperature and is used primarily as a strong oxidizing and fluorinating agent. It is used in a number of industrial applications such as semiconductor manufacturing, uranium enrichment and the production of other chemicals. Due to its high energy content, it is also used as rocket fuel, but this use is very limited due to its extreme reactivity and toxicity.
