DMF, N,N-Dimethylformamide
Dimethylformamide (DMF) is a colourless liquid miscible with water with a characteristic amine odour. It is a common solvent in many industries such as pharmaceuticals, pesticides and electronics. It is also used as a reagent in organic synthesis and as a solvent for polymers and fibres. It is also used as a solvent in the manufacture of certain fibres and resins and as a reactant in the manufacture of other chemicals.
