HCCPD, Perchlorocyclopentadiene, C-56
Hexachlorocyclopentadiene (HCCPD) is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of organochlorine compounds. It is a colourless crystalline solid with an odour of chlorine. HCCPD is used as an intermediate in the manufacture of other chemicals and pesticides, but is not used as a pesticide itself. HCCPD is considered a persistent organic pollutant and its production and use are banned or restricted in many countries.
