HMPA, Hexametapol
Hexamethyl phosphoramide (HMPA) is a colorless liquid that is used as a polar aprotic solvent, a ligand in organometallic chemistry, and as a reagent in organic synthesis. It is a highly polar solvent and is used to dissolve highly polar compounds such as inorganic salts, acids and amines. It is also used to catalyse the formation of various organic compounds. HMPA is considered potentially hazardous to health.
