Iodium fluoride is a colorless or yellowish liquid, used as a reagent in the production of other iodine compounds and inorganic fluoride compounds. It is also used as a source of fluoride ions in various chemical reactions, for example in the production of uranium hexafluoride, which is used in the enrichment of uranium for nuclear fuel.
