N,N-dimethylaniline is a clear, colourless liquid with a characteristic amine odour. It is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of other chemicals and dyes such as pigments, pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. It is also used as a solvent, corrosion inhibitor and fuel additive. DMA is considered toxic and exposure to it should be avoided as much as possible.
