Carbon(II) Oxide
Carbon monoxide is a colourless, odourless, poisonous gas produced by the imperfect combustion of fossil fuels. It is found in the exhaust gases of cars and trucks, small gasoline engines, stoves, lamps, charcoal and wood burning, and in gas stoves and heating systems. In higher concentrations it is toxic to humans and animals, reduces the amount of oxygen that body cells can absorb, and can also cause headaches, dizziness, weakness, nausea, vomiting, chest pain and confusion. In extreme cases, high exposure can lead to unconsciousness and death.
