Refined lubricating oils are products obtained by refining crude oil. They are used to lubricate mechanical parts of engines, transmissions and other machinery to reduce friction and wear and to keep these parts clean. Refining processes such as distillation, cracking and conditioning are used to remove impurities and improve the oil's properties.
