Isooctanol
2-ethylhexanol is a colourless liquid with a characteristic alcoholic odour. It is mainly used as an intermediate in the production of plasticizers, lubricants and other chemical compounds. It is also used as a fragrance ingredient in perfumes and personal care products. 2-ethylhexanol is also known as isooctanol, which is used as an octane reference alcohol. In large quantities, it can be harmful to human health and the environment.
