Aniline is a colourless to pale yellow liquid that has a sweet fruity smell and is highly flammable. Aniline is used as a feedstock in the manufacture of a wide range of chemicals, including plastics, rubber, dyes and pharmaceuticals. It is also used as a solvent and as a fuel additive. Aniline is a toxic substance that can be harmful if ingested or inhaled in large quantities. It is also an irritant and can cause skin and eye irritation.
