Butane is a colourless, odourless, flammable gas that liquefies easily and is commonly used as a fuel source, as a lighter fuel, in portable camping stoves, for heating, as an aerosol propellant and in some air conditioning systems as a refrigerant. Butane is also part of natural gas and can be separated by a process called liquefaction.

FKM has excellent chemical and heat resistance. It is used in mineral oil and grease based applications.
