Butanone, also known as methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), is a highly flammable, colourless liquid organic compound. It is a versatile chemical intermediate used in the manufacture of a variety of products, including paint removers, adhesives, and cleaners, as well as in the production of other chemicals such as acrylic fibers and plasticizers.
