Lime brine is a thick, clear liquid with a high salt content that is often used as a drilling fluid in the oil and gas industry. Calcium bromide brine is added to drilling fluids to increase their density, which helps stabilize the well and prevent cavities from forming. It is also used to inhibit corrosion and to maintain the proper viscosity of the drilling fluid. Calcium bromide brine is generally considered a non-toxic and environmentally friendly drilling fluid, but can be harmful if ingested or in contact with skin in high concentrations.
