Dioctylamine is a clear, colorless liquid that is used in a variety of industrial and commercial applications. Dioctylamine is a strong base and is used as a neutralizing agent, corrosion inhibitor and surfactant. Dioctylamine is also used as an emulsifier in the manufacture of emulsion polymers and as a lubricating additive in the manufacture of metalworking fluids and lubricants. It is also used as an intermediate in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, pesticides and other chemicals.
