Methanoic Acid
Formic acid 85% is a colourless liquid with a pungent, acrid odour. It is corrosive to the skin, eyes and respiratory system. Formic acid 85% is used in a variety of industrial and manufacturing applications, including as a preservative, pH regulator, coagulant and cleaning agent. It is used in the manufacture of leather, textiles and in food preservation. It is also used as an additive in livestock feed and as an intermediate for the production of other chemicals.
