Methyl Ethanoate
Methyl acetate is a colourless liquid with a fruity, sweet smell. It is a common solvent used in a variety of industrial applications and is also used as a flavoring and fragrance in food and cosmetics. Methyl acetate is commonly used as a solvent for paints, varnishes, lacquers and inks, and also in the production of cellulose acetate, which is used to make films, fibres and plastics.
