Nitroethane is a colourless liquid that is used as a solvent and intermediate in the production of other chemicals such as dyes, pesticides and pharmaceuticals. It is also used as a fuel in some racing engines and as a component of some rocket propellants. It is a highly flammable and explosive liquid.
