Propionaldehyde, also known as propanal, is an organic compound that is used in the manufacture of various chemicals and products. It is a colorless liquid with a pungent, acrid odor and is highly flammable and toxic. It is produced by the oxidation of propionic acid and is also used as a solvent and flavouring agent.
