2,2-Dichloro-1,1,1-Trifluoroethane, R-123, Freon 123
Type 123 (R-123) refrigerant, chemically called 2,2-dichloro-1,1,1-trifluoroethane, is used in large volume centrifugal chillers and HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) systems. Due to ozone depletion, its production and consumption are being phased out.
