Starch is a polysaccharide made up of glucose molecules found in plants and foods such as potatoes, corn, rice and wheat. It is a tasteless white powder that is used as a thickener and stabilizer in foods, as a binder in papermaking, as a binder in textiles, and as a filler in pharmaceutical preparations.
