TCE, 1,1,2-Trichloroethene, Ethylene Trichloride
Trichloroethylene (TCE) is a clear, colourless, non-flammable liquid with a sweet, chloroform-like odour. It is widely used as a solvent for cleaning metal parts and also in the manufacture of some consumer products such as adhesives and stain removers. TCE is a potent central nervous system depressant and exposure to high levels can cause serious health effects including liver and kidney damage and an increased risk of cancer.
