Carbamide, Carbonyl Diamide
Urea is a white crystalline solid soluble in water. It is a nitrogen-rich compound that is commonly used as a fertilizer in agriculture to supply nitrogen to plants. Urea is also used as a raw material in the manufacture of many other chemicals, including resins, plastics and adhesives. In the human body, urea is a waste product of protein metabolism that is excreted in the urine. In medicine, urea is used as an ingredient in some skin creams and ointments, and also as a diagnostic tool to determine kidney function.
