Carbon Dioxide, Dry - Chemical resistance

Carbon dioxide is a naturally occurring, colourless and odourless gas. It is a by-product of the metabolism of living organisms and is also released into the atmosphere by the burning of fossil fuels. Dry carbon dioxide is carbon dioxide from which water vapour has been removed. This process is often carried out to remove impurities and increase the CO2 concentration for specific industrial or laboratory applications. It is used for the production of carbonated beverages, dry ice, as a refrigerant and in food preservation, as a reagent in industrial processes such as the production of fertilisers, methanol and urethanes, it is also used in the oil and gas industry for enhanced oil recovery and as a raw material for the production of chemicals such as formic acid and oxalic acid.
