2,2,4-Trimethylpentane
Isooctane is a colourless, clear liquid that is used as a reference fuel and as an octane booster in gasoline. It is also used as a solvent in the manufacture of some chemicals and as a lubricant in some applications. Isooctane is highly flammable and should be handled with care and stored in a well-ventilated area, away from sources of heat and ignition.
