Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate, Baking Soda
Sodium bicarbonate, also known as baking soda, is a white crystalline powder that is commonly used as a baking agent, as a cleanser and deodorizer, and as an antacid for heartburn and indigestion. It is an alkaline compound with a neutralising effect on acids and a pH of around 8,3. Sodium bicarbonate can be dissolved in water and is used in a variety of applications such as as part of fire extinguishers, in kidney dialysis and as a performance enhancing supplement in sports.
