White Spirit, Mineral Turpentine
Stoddard solvent, also known as white or mineral spirits, is a type of solvent made from petroleum. It is commonly used as a thinner for oil paints, varnishes and lacquers, and also for cleaning tools and equipment used in painting. They are named after the Stoddard process, which is a method of refining crude oil to produce these solvents.
